Michael Gaisbacher is a bowmaker and bassist from southwestern, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he received a BA in Double Bass Performance, Gaisbacher began studying bow rehairing under Sue Lipkins in 2015. Moving to Nashville, TN, in 2016, Gaisbacher began rehairing bows independently and at a local shop. Beginning in 2022, Gaisbacher transitioned from bow repair to construction and continues to expand his practice by studying with other makers such as Sue Lipkins and Rodney Mohr as well as others.
Michael currently works out of his home shop in East Nashville TN and is taking new commissions as well as rehair and repair work.
